Pastor Mark Haller

Some much to say, so little space to say it:

First of all the month of December. When you think about all the opportunities to come to church this month one must stop and say, PRAISE BE TO GOD. Everything taking place during this month in our church is to guide our focus, our attention, not on the economy, but rather focus our attention on the wonderful gift of the Christ Child. As we soon enter this month, please know that I am excited about being part of St. Peter’s family during such an amazing and wonderful time for the church.

Did you know that many people who have be absent from church are just sitting back waiting to be asked to come back! Do you know someone that has been absent? Do you know someone who doesn’t go to church? This is a great time to ask, invite or to merely say, I miss seeing you in church. We have so many great things taking place right now, it’s time to let others know about them and invite them to be part of this great ministry.

Please know that we understand that many people are worried about their job or have been laid off. As this pressure comes upon people around you or yourself, please know that we don’t want you to go through this alone. These things can tear families apart. Please know that this is a time to turn to Christ not away. Many people say that the churches flourished with people at the time of depression and they are right. The reason for this is because people where coming to try to find a place to be built up, when everything else is tearing on down.

I know this is a lot of things on separate subjects, but the point is God is good to St. Peter’s and he has given us many reasons to rejoice, many reasons to reach out, many reasons to come together. As we go through this month it will be fast, but thanks be to God this month at St. Peter’s will be all about preparing for the celebration of Christ’s Birthday.
